Five voting seats

Committee Recruitment

The Governing Committee brings five distinct perspectives together to protect the mission, educational quality, students and responsible operation of The Amanah Institute of ABAS.

An Amanah to fulfill

Governance requires preparation, integrity and responsible participation.

Committee seats represent governance perspectives. They do not automatically create staff positions or give an individual independent authority to supervise personnel, change curriculum, issue religious rulings or make unilateral decisions for the Institute.

Who may be considered?

  • Muslim and at least 18 years old
  • Supports the Institute’s mission and governing documents
  • Demonstrates integrity, reliability and role-appropriate competence
  • Can maintain confidentiality and disclose conflicts of interest
  • Can attend monthly meetings and give governance matters reasonable attention
  • Can complete orientation, required agreements and applicable screening

Disability or the need for reasonable accommodation does not by itself disqualify an otherwise eligible person.

Five responsibilities. One shared mission.

Seat 1 is held by the Founder. The Institute is recruiting qualified Muslims for Seats 2 through 5.
